Meet the Author Behind the Stories
Hi, we’re C.S. Field and Joan — co-authors of the Clubhouse Series, a 3-book adventure collection that blends mystery, science, nature, and creativity for kids ages 8–12.
C.S.’s love for storytelling began with his father, an Irish storyteller whose magical tales sparked a lifelong passion for writing. That legacy, combined with his background in education, urban planning, and years of outdoor adventures as an Eagle Scout, shaped his mission to inspire young minds.
Joan, a retired Nurse Practitioner and passionate educator, brings heart, insight, and warmth to every story. Together, we’ve traveled the world, drawing inspiration from different cultures, kind people, and the beauty of nature — all of which fuel the stories we write.

This book has nine stories that incorporate interesting topics to tempt boys who don’t like to read. The stories all have a fun “hook” at the beginning to draw you in, and though they claim to be geared toward boys, my niece liked them, as well. The story topics and the language are age appropriate, and the illustrations are fun. There were parts where the kids laughed out loud as they were reading, which I always take as a good sign. I love that the book ends with references, in case the kids want to learn more about some of the topics as they relate to real life. This is a good book; they really liked it.
